REPORT FOR 2007 AND FIRST THREE MONTHS OF 2008
Al Bianchi
Treasurer, ASSA Foundation
On behalf of the Nestle Purina PetCare Company, I am pleased to inform you that the one hundred sixty four National Parent Clubs participating in the Purina Parent Club Partnership Program have earned in excess of $608,000 in 2007 to benefit canine health research, education and rescue efforts. The funds have been evenly distributed between the Canine Health Foundation and the individual National Parent Clubs. Your club's earnings are based on its proportionate share of weight circle submissions.
2007 PPCP earnings checks were mailed out on Thursday, April 3rd and were sent Certified Return Receipt Requested. As all agreements for participation in this program will expire in December, please fill out the form, enclosed with the check, and return it in the business reply envelope provided. This will ensure your club's participation through December 2010. To ensure that our contact information is current and we can provide you with relevant and timely information about the PPCP program, please be sure to verify the contact information shown on the form is correct.
As of 3/31/08 the American Shetland Sheepdog Association has 1043 members declared for the Purina Parent Club Partnership Program. From January 1, 2008 through March 31, 2008, 118 members have submitted weight circles resulting in a total of $1,406.01 accumulated thus far for the 2008 Program.
The best way to increase the earnings is by spreading the word:
To Club members who are already Pro Club members: Encourage them to declare for the Purina Parent Club Partnership Program by calling 1-877-776-2582 and encourage them to submit weight circles to the Purina Pro Club.
To Club Members who feed Purina but are NOT members of Pro Club?: Make them aware of the Purina Parent Club Partnership program and encourage them to join Pro Club, declare for their breed and submit weight circles to the Purina Pro Club.
Each new person who declares participation in the PPCP Program and submits weight circles or who joins Pro Cluband declares and submits weight circles will only help to increase the earnings for 2008. To assist you in spreading the word, we have developed ad slicks and a program overview sheet that are perfect for use in your club?s publications, website, show catalog, etc. Additionally, we have found that many participants have been made aware of the program through information made available to them on their clubs web site.
If your club has a website, we have an image with linking information you may wish to use to provide a link from your clubs web site to make it easy for fanciers of the Shetland Sheepdog to access additional information about the PPCP program. If you would like a copy of the ad slick, overview or web link image, please email me at MICHAEL.ALLWAY@PURINA.NESTLE.COM and I will be happy to fulfill your request.
Also, do not forget that we have the PPCP table top display boards that are perfect for using at your next event. Light weight and highly portable they are easy to carry along or ship to wherever they are needed to remind fanciers of the Shetland Sheepdog that the American Shetland Sheepdog Association participates in this important program and lets them know what they need to do to contribute.
Purina looks forward to another year of partnering with you in advancing the health and well being of the Shetland Sheepdog. If you have any questions or need to contact the Purina Parent Club Partnership Program you may call 1-800-778-3375 or e-mail purinappcp@purina.com. We thank you for your continued support of the Program.
